• NIX Health Care System Recognized as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence - The NIX Weight Loss Surgery Center has been approved as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by The American Society for Bariatric Surgery's (ASBS). • Nix Rated #1 in Bexar County for Heart Care - USA Today reports that the Nix Health Care System is rated the #1 hospital in Bexar County for providing heart patients with the standards of care recommended by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). • Nix Medical Center is the only San Antonio hospital to meet every National Quality Improvement Goal, according to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
• The Nix Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Care Center is 1 of only 5 facilities in the world to receive a second accreditation from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.
• Nix Behavioral Health Services received 2 honors from a national mental health management organization for nursing quality and community education programs.
• Nix Mammography Services at the Nix Medical Center and Nix Alamo Heights was recognized by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
• Café Navarro, our very popular hospital cafeteria, was named one of the “Best Value Restaurants in San Antonio” by the international travel website, www.gayot.com, and received a great review from the San Antonio Current for its cuisine.
• Nix Home Care received a Certificate of Recognition from the Texas Medical Foundation for achieving high quality measures.
• Data from a national data collection agency, UDS Database, has shown that the results of patients of the Nix Rehabilitation Services surpass other rehabilitation facilities in the region and across the U.S. for cases of stroke, brain injury, cardiac, debility, neurology, orthopaedics, and spinal cord.
• A national healthcare quality ratings and services company has awarded the Nix Health Care System’s Orthopaedic Services Center 5 stars, their highest rating, for hip fracture repair and total knee replacement.
