Hyperbaric Oxygen - What is it?
When a non-healing wound shows little improvement with conventional treatment, our wound center physicians may recommend hyperbaric oxygen. At Nix Health, treatments are conducted inside the largest civilian hyperbaric chamber in San Antonio where patients breathe 100% oxygen under pressure. This allows a high concentration of oxygen to reach the tissues of the body, facilitating the healing process.

The founders and managers of the Center are internationally recognized pioneers who provide education, training, management, and consulting to centers around the world.
 


Wound Healing
The professional staff at the Nix Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center is dedicated to caring for wounds. Specialized wound care enhances traditional medical, surgical, and rehabilitation methods for patients with a variety of conditions:

After a comprehensive patient assessment and evaluation, our wound center physicians develop an individualized treatment plan that may include advanced therapies, advanced dressings, and/or hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
 


The Nix Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center is nationally accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.

Highly trained attendants are present inside the NIX hyperbaric chamber during all treatments.

Co-Medical Directors Enrique Almaguer, M.D.  and Duane Dietz, M.D.  are renowned wound care specialists. Dr. Almaguer is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Dietz is Board Certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. Enrique Almaguer, M.D. and Duane Dietz, M.D. are independent practitioners and active members of Nix Health medical staff.
