Scholarships

The Nix Health Care Foundation annually awards nursing and athletic trainer scholarships:

• The Nix Foundation recognizes the role of nurses in healthcare, the value of continuing education, and the individual’s sacrifices and efforts in going back to school while employed, and often raising a family at the same time. Nursing scholarships are available for Nix employees who are enrolled in a nursing program or pursuing an advanced degree.

• Dr. Jesse C. DeLee, Dr. John A. Evans and the Nix Foundation recognize the tremendous guidance and support student trainers receive from their high school athletic trainers and families. We are pleased to offer these talented area high school seniors athletic trainer scholarships to help them pursue a career in athletic training.

Nurses are the cornerstone of patient care. Patients rely on their skill, knowledge and compassion, and the Nix relies on its nursing staff to continue a cherished tradition of nursing excellence.

The Nix Health Care Foundation has developed a nursing scholarship program to help Nix employees enhance or complete a nursing degree.

The DeLee-Evans Foundation for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics, in affiliation with the Nix Health Care Foundation, annually awards scholarships to area students pursuing an education in athletic training. The scholarships are awarded based on outstanding achievement as student athletic trainers, excellence in academia, varied extra-curricular activities, and financial needs. Each recipient must be accepted into their respective college’s athletic training program.
