Nix Health Recognized as Five-Star Quality Rated Hospital by CMS
(January 24, 2019) Nix Health is proud to announce our latest recognition
as a Five-Star Quality Rated Hospital by the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services (CMS) for 2019 – the highest quality rating afforded
by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Nix Health’s Five-Star Quality Rating incorporates several quality
measures with a focus on the patient experience at a Medicare-certified
acute care hospital. These quality measures categorize factors such as
safety of care, readmission rates, mortality rates, effectiveness and
timeliness of care, and others related to a patient’s experience.
“The Five-Star Quality distinction by CMS is a product of the tremendous
physicians and clinical staff we have the privilege of working with on
a daily basis,” states Jesse Peralez, Senior Administrator of Nix
Health. “As a healthcare system, nothing is more important than
the care of our patients and this Five-Star Quality Rating is a measure
of our commitment to our primary belief.”
CMS created the Star System to help patients, family members, and caregivers
compare hospitals on different areas of quality measurements. A Five-Star
rating is considered excellent. The star ratings can be found on CMS’
Hospital Compare website, which has information about the quality, safety
and customer experience at more than 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals
across the country. The ratings are provided to the public to help patients
make educated decisions about which hospitals to use.
